My good friend Jim Hobart, of Macbeth Photo, has been asked to curate a photo-wall at a new bar that's opening soon in downtown Orlando. Photos will be mounted on the wall in a montage of different-sized images, each framed.
The owner wants interesting and eye-catching images of Lake Eola Park, Thornton Park, South Eola, and Downtown Orlando.
This is a paid opportunity. No image will be used or published without your consent, and without payment.
Estimated payment will be between $50 and $200 per image, based on the size it is actually printed on the wall. (The bar owner will have final say based on budget.)
It may be used in the bar's social media (with credit), and it will most likely be photographed by customers doing selfies in front of it.
The goal is to create a destination that people seek out.
The owner is also willing to sell prints in his bar. Meaning, If someone shows interest in an image, he'll collect the money at the cash-register, and send it to you, along with the customer's info, and you'd be responsible for printing and fulfillment (bar will not maintain inventory). This is totally optional, and is not required for participation in the wall project.
HOW TO SUBMIT: If you'd like to submit images for consideration, please send low-res (2000 pixels min) and watermarked (if you choose) of your best images (up to 10) of Lake Eola / Thornton Park / Downtown Orlando.
Photos may have been taken with SLR, mirrorless, drone, or phone. Final image is the only concern, provided resolution is sufficient.
NONE OF THE IMAGES YOU SEND will be published / displayed without your permission, and agreed-upon payment. (I'm a photographer too, and I will make sure your rights as the creator and owner are protected.)
Send up to 10 low-res images (2000 pixels) as an attachment, or send a link to a gallery, to firstname.lastname@example.org, with "PHOTO WALL PROJECT" in the subject line.
Please include in the text of your email the maximum pixels (long edge) of the full-res files, so we can estimate maximum size of prints, should your image(s) be chosen.
DEADLINE: Friday, June 29, at midnight.
Jim will be presenting a selection of images that will make a good montage / collage on the wall. The wall is 24' x 9', so there's plenty of room for a couple of dozen images.
After the owner makes his final selections, Jim will be in touch with you to notify you of his choices, and make an offer of payment for the rights to the image to be printed and mounted on the wall. You will receive a contract and payment, and then you'll send the high-resolution image(s) to be printed. We will use a professional print source, to maintain maximum quality, and won't alter the image without your consent.
LEGAL NOTE: There is no guarantee that your images will be selected, and if not, no payment should be expected. If your image(s) are selected, we'll be in touch about next steps. If we fail to reach an agreement on payment, your images will not be used.
Email email@example.com with any questions. Deadline is final and non-negotiable.
